Hey guys! Today I have some pretty big news to share with you guys and I’m wildly excited!
I’ve been laying a little low for the past several weeks and that’s because I’ve been focusing a lot of my time and energy working on a big, new project!
After a lot of thought and a ridiculous amount of research, I’ve decided to expand on my love for makeup and start working on formulating my own line of cosmetics! 
I want you guys to know exactly what’s going on over here so I’m going to tell you about what I’ve been doing as well as my plans for the future!
What you see here is my work station, piled high with all of my ingredients & most of my supplies! I may have went a little crazy with the amount of stuff that I ordered but when I do something, I really like to do it right and instead of limiting myself to a handful of ingredients, I really wanted to have a large variety of ingredients at my disposal to experiment with to make sure that I’m able to formulate and produce good products. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and refuse to put my name on anything that I don’t truly believe in so any products that come out of here are going to have to match up to my high standards.
All of my ingredients here have been transferred to brand new storage containers, labeled with what they are (duh) as well as what types of products they’re safe to use in. Ex. – Safe for eyes and face, not safe for lip products.
While working with my ingredients, I’ve been maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness such as using loads of hand sanitizer, always wearing gloves, changing them anytime I leave the room, touch a potentially unclean surface or touch my own face or body. Prior to working, and after I’m done, all surfaces are cleaned with Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and tools are sprayed with rubbing alcohol and then hand washed so that they aren’t mingling with any food bits in the dishwasher.
On the topic of hygiene, I know many of you know I have pets but don’t worry because I’m not letting them interfere with my hygiene practices! The pets haven’t been allowed in my work room for several weeks now and prior to my shipments coming, I cleaned the whole room thoroughly which included me getting on my hands and knees and vacuuming the entire room with a little 3 inch rubber attachment to make sure I was really digging any little bits of dirt or pet hair out of the carpet. To avoid tracking pet hair in on my clothing, I purchased a lab coat to wear while working and it never leaves the room except to be washed.
Since I’m still in the very early stages of all of this, I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be able to launch but I’m shooting to be ready by the beginning of 2016! I plan on launching with several shades of highlighters and eyeshadows and then expanding on those products. My focus is to make really unique & beautiful shades while also producing lovely neutrals that everyone needs. I’d also really like to be able to produce lip products in the future as well but that’s probably pretty far off!
Once I get several good and practically finalized products, I plan to send out samples to several people asking for their honest opinion and if they think anything needs to be adjusted before I plan to launch.
SO! With all of this being said, please, please tell me what you guys think as well as what types of shades/products would interest you, what you look for in an indie cosmetic company and what things turn you off to an indie company, as well as any questions, comments or literally anything you want to share!
I am insanely excited (and also pretty nervous) about all of this but I really think it can turn out to be something great and I’ve been having loads of fun with it! I’ll be keeping you guys posted and sharing some swatches in the coming weeks! <3 <3 <3
